The A55 is the North Wales Expressway, running the coast from Chester past Colwyn Bay and Bangor to the Holyhead ferries. The Britannia Bridge onto Anglesey closes to high-sided vehicles in strong winds, and the Conwy and Penmaenbach tunnels have regular overnight maintenance.
