The M53 runs down the Wirral from the Mersey tunnels to Chester, carrying Liverpool commuters and Ellesmere Port's industrial traffic. The Bidston Moss viaduct and the Cheshire Oaks junctions are its usual slow spots. Live incidents and closures refresh every 5 minutes.
